Greetings.
I’ve been using stock Mullvad Browser, initially without the VPN, and noticed something regarding CDN (specifically, map.fastly.net) usage. Using the Mullvad browser I notice that many websites, including reddit.com for example, call resources from *.map.fastly.net whereas the Tor Browser (that on which the Mullvad Browser is based) does not make these resource calls when browsing the same site. Mullvad browser loads many sites with *.map.fastly.net (as can be seen using uBlock Origin or Dev tools). I’ve also compared this behavior with a couple extra browsers: Firefox (128.5.0 ESR) also calls from map.fastly.net, while Palemoon, Brave, and a few others do not. Also note, the selection of DNS (e.g. ‘protected’ Mullvad DNS vs local DNS) does not change this - I tried.
What could be the cause of CDN resourcing (i.e. map.fastly.net) browsing the same site using Mullvad Browser vs Tor Browser?
