It’s really important to remind people who are defending Musk what he was doing in Germany just a few days before this salute.

    He was fucking defending Nazis.

    This salute was no accident.

Just went to LinkedIn just to see bottom of the barrel bootlickers defending him.

” He’s autistic”, ” that picture is taken out of context”, ” it’s a Roman salute”, ” look at these out of context pictures of other politicians making the gesture”, ” how can he be a Nazi if he supports Israel?”

No he did a full on deliberate Nazi salute at a far right event.

I’m genuinely curious: who the fuck defends Elon and Nazis on LinkedIn? Are we so far divided as a country that it’s ok to associate employment with a penchant for Nazism?

I’m autistic, I’ve never done this gesture. Everyone’s different, of course, but I’ve never seen anyone at all do this by accident. I’ve seen the defence that it’s a “from my heart to yours” gesture, but if that was true, it would be palm up. Palm up is the giving gesture. Palm down is a saluting gesture.

Yeah, excusing it by saying he’s autistic is ableist by itself. We’re not incapable of understanding dog whistles or concepts, you know?

Especially when people in the same breath call Elon a genius. You can’t have it both ways. Either he’s clueless and shouldn’t be in a position of power, or he’s actually a nazi… and shouldn’t be in a position of power

there is no proof in roman writing or painting of this salute, there is no doubt about Musolinis fascist movement using it in 1919 and later the german nazis adopting it

And more to the point, no one stumbles into an extreme-right event, gives a hyper reactionary speech, and does two nazi salutes by mistake.

The media that’s helping Musk gaslight everyone should be ashamed of themselves.

Billions of people, including those in high positions and with cameras on them all the time wake up every day, go about their business and then go to bed in the evening without even once doing a nazi salute by accident throughout their day. It’s not that hard actually. I’m on a pretty great streak since my birth as well and it’s really easy.

What Elon did was a nazi salute, and Elon is a nazi.

Back in the early days of Trump 1.0, I was accused of accidentally making a nazi salute. I raised a pint glass in cheers with no open palm (a drinking glass was in my hand). This wasn’t a nazi salute, but people were so keyed up to overreact and attack their friends and coworkers that it didn’t matter.

People are not taking Elon’s salute seriously because our society has lost its ability to take such accusations seriously. People remember the overreaction and baseless accusations being flung between people who should have had solidarity in Trump 1.0, and that undermines trust in similar claims today. This jadedness gives cover for the actual mask-off nazism in Trump 2.0.

People are so used to finding out that an accused nazi salute from the clickbait article was just someone trying to say cheers or making an awkward hand gesture that it takes extra evidence now to convince them that the AfD-supporting billionaire that just bought an election actually did a full nazi salute starting from the chest with no other justification (and then repeated it).

Dont look at any evidence pointing at the fact he is a nazi, like how he just backed a party that wants to have constitution changed so secret police can do raids without any legal requirement. Sure seems trolly to me to back a party like that. A man with numerous nazi sympathies. Very trolly. would also be incredebly troll if there was more evidence pointing at the fact he harbours nazi sympathies. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDyPSKLy5E4&t=706s Oh no look an entire video showing he really hates nazis and was just trolling. Open your eyes and look at the backlash and take two seconds to take it in. The answer is all around you. No its not as bad as being a literal nazi and its forgivable if some dumb ass kids do it to be edgelords. can’t stop it, dumb kids do tons of stupid things since they are literally by the pure defintion of the word mentally underdeveloped to the point of being deficet, stupid and not of sound body or mind compared to adults. Which is why kids dont get to drink, drive, vote, take real responsibility for their actions, work full time or own guns.

It is very bad when a big public figure and a politican does it at an inauguration. And then doesn’t apolagize. Especially if he has made tweets like responding “actual truth” to posts that say “da joos are importing all the immigrants that ruin america”(paraphrased but an actual, real thing that happened)

Huh? So you are essentially saying that someone doing a Nazi salute as a troll is JUST AS BAD as actually being a Nazi and doing Nazi things? You can’t be for real.

Note: I’m not saying that he is def just trolling, but it seems like it to me personally. I’m not here to defend Nazis or anything like that. I’m simply trying to figure out if you really genuinely believe that a Nazi salute as a troll (hypothetically) is just as bad as actually being a Nazi. To me personally one if def worse than the other.

Who cares if he did it to troll or is actually a Nazi? Either way he’s a rich person with immense power signalling that he might be, and that’s just as bad. Emboldening Nazis as a troll gives them cover to “joke” about it as well.

Also, he was in Germany recently defending Nazis, so he’s definitely a Nazi.

Framing being a Nazi as having a defining rubric of out and proud suggests a false spectrum linking being brave and cowardly to a range between Nazi and Not Nazi. It’s more of a boolean function. A Nazi coward hiding in linen cupboard and an audacious Nazi in the streets willing to take a punch are still both just Nazis.

Sorry, read too much and live with a programmer who uses me as a soundboard and forgot how to talk like a human. I’ll simplify.

It was implied above being an “actual” Nazi is linked somehow to being brave. I suggested that being a Nazi isn’t linked to being ballsy. A coward Nazi doesn’t just exist it’s just as deserving of being smacked in the face as a brave Nazi the only difference is their defense tactic is make you feel bad about doing so.

Maybe a downgrade from a punch to an open hand slap for legal retaliation reasons? Season to taste? Won’t tell you how to live your life.

The Nazis had great fashion sense as well. I mean, they murdered millions and all, but looked fantastic doing it.

This new crop has the fashion sense of a neckbeard living in a college dorm.

If you’re going to trample the rights of my loved ones and myself, at least have the decency to wear some spiffy shiny leather boots and accessorize with some skull jewelry.

Can we chill with the Nazi salute guys?

Like, I get it, Musk is a Nazi shitbag. Not much of a surprise there.

But I’ve seen like 100 posts about the damn salute and like 2 about the flood of EOs that Trump has put out the last two days.

Starting to wonder if the salute was an intentional distraction. Because of course the Internet would be on fire about that.

They are neo-nazis, and they stopped being ashamed of it, tell everyone, it’s going to be rough
