      Tip if you’re shopping laptops: stay away from any newish ASUS models. Sadly ASUS seems to still think Linux is some ‘minor’ thing that doesn’t merit any support and they love making things a little custom…

      I like my dual-screen Duo 2024, but the detachable keyboard and sound still aren’t properly supported. :(

        My main rig is a custom build and my laptop is a 2016 ThinkPad. I’m already far too much of a nerd. The only proprietary system I’ll have left is my Mac for music, which, good luck getting a solid audio stack + Ableton Live running on Linux. I’ve tried.

          I’ve been meaning to try out Reaper DAW under Linux on my old tower system when I (eventually) get set up again. I hope it might work well enough… then I can dump Windows on that machine entirely.
