TIDY is an amazing app
Ooh, that looks amazing. Thanks! I’ve installed it, but I’ll wait to open it because I don’t have three hours for it to index my thirty terabyte meme collection.
I use immich and can search, makes it super easy.
I OCR indexed my meme library so I can search by text in images… I might have a problem.
I think you have a solution
Absolute legend. I have been meaning to do this. One day when i am extremely bored I’m going to run my meme library through AI to describe every meme and then tag all of them. Then host all the memes and make them seaechable. I’ve been thinking aboot it for 3 years and haven’t done it yet though.
The longer we wait to do this the easier and better it’ll be, right? ;)
I mean after I die it will be very difficult. So maybe up to a point.
I classified my memes and sorted them in folders and sub folders (like, the “wojak” folder is a subfolder of “rage”). I might have a slightly different problem.
That sounds really cool! How’d you do it?
Obsidian with the Omnisearch plugin 🙂
That is so interesting! I never would’ve guessed Obsidian for file storage. I’ll have to look into that! Thanks for sharing. Did you use any resources online in setting it up, or did you already know how to go about it?
I added the folder as a vault and installed the Omnisearch community plugin. I think you need to enable OCR in the plugin settings after that but I’m not sure. Should be quite straight forward 🙂
Ahh, I see. Excellent 😁 Thanks a lot for the info! I’m excited to look into it.
Unironically asking an ai chatbot to find your memes
Not everything is AI 😬
OCR search on photo libraries has changed the game entirely.
But it doesnt work for memes without text or videos/gifs :/
Object identification search helps too, some phones do that by default. Won’t get everything obviously but more than just OCR.
I’ve renamed my memes to tags relevant to each of them
I’m in the process of manually sorting my 4000+ meme collection into somewhat useful categories (folders). I just wish the Android media picker had a search feature (at least there’s none (that I know of) in Android 14/HyperOS).
