    Yeah. I was surprised by Tesla’s admission that they sold cars that could not navigate cross traffic.

    You see, I’m totally ok with him being upfront about this, because I hope that would mean they realize their shortcomings and are more likely to find ways to minimize the risks (like having a human in the driver’s seat as a backup at all times). If nothing else, rather have this than another CEO claiming it’s 100% perfect and then fucking up hard.

    It’s just like vaccine or any experimental drug. Some deaths are inevitable but it will do greater good in the long run.

      To sorta flip this comment around a bit… with any medication/vaccine/treatment, in order to demonstrate efficacy, some trial participants must specifically NOT receive the treatment. In the case of truly useful treatments, there most certainly will be people who did not receive the experimental treatment who might have benefited. We do willingly sacrifice some (who voluntarily elect to be experimented on, of course) for the greater good.
