Moved here three years ago. I was visiting friends for a few years prior. Three older couples moved here that I met back in Southport. I had lived there for six years in total. Then the unit I was renting got sold and I was bouncing from share house to share house, was struggling with work too. So I was a bit lost and frustrated. I decided to give this a go.
And to answer your question, yes of course. There’s a big sense of community that you rarely, very rarely find elsewhere. The commute is a bummer at times, but hey I get to ride in a boat often too. It’s not for everyone but those of us that appreciate it are extremely content.
Yeah nice, I memba that community from growing up in Byron during the 80s and 90s haha,
But that’s sweet and feed sounds like a wicked adventure building and living in a camper!!!
I have been renting a huge Queenslander overlooking the water back to Redland Bay for two years now. However the first 14 months I rented a tiny room in a house with a hoarder. Yeah … Well anyway now I see some awesome sunsets at times, especially when the cane fires happen around Yatala.
As for being an owner, well with my super I bought a block of land a year ago for $44,000.
I will be getting two shipping containers moved there real soon for storage. Eventually I will live in a large off road camper trailer. Need to get power and water on, then rough it a bit and try to build a house with the rent that I’ll save. But of an adventure. Oh and I’m not young…
Always lived out there, or moved to it? If you relocated out there, what was the reasoning for that?

Ah right, fair enough! You own out there??? Enjoy it overall?
