Obviously they might be misrepresenting the situation, but it doesn’t sound like “They were previously having employees do this and are switching to using AI”; it sounds like “This was not previously being done at all and is now being done by AI”.
They are slowly taking inches. Soon these dubs will be used as an example to justify cutting jobs in the future.
We did A with Ai so why can’t we now use it on B and save a shit ton of labour. People are fine with it. Nobody will notice. And slowly but surely all the people creating art are replaced with ai slop plagiarism generators.
I’m convinced that the problem with AI isn’t its existence or uses, it’s just that we don’t have UBI to go along with it. It’s the obvious step, but we’re skipping it because capitalism. I don’t think anyone would care if all of the menial jobs were done by AI, as long as they didn’t need those jobs for basic necessities.
But that’s not happening. It’s not being use to do the menial. It’s robbing the joy of creating and being use to steal more time and labour from people.
Until we have any kind of actual shot of UBI, we NEED to protest ai and continue to demand real human expression. Instead of everything being lead by corporates desire to grow like cancer.
