I’m trying to find a decent wireless headset for day-to-day use. It’d be for a lot of teleconferencing as well as some gaming, music, and other normal stuff. In particular, I’m looking for a pair of over-ears, since wearing on-ears or in-ears for longer periods is uncomfortable (esspecially with glasses), want something with a fold-up or removeable microphone to prevent damage, and have a pretty limited budget: $200CAD, equivalent to about $100USD.
My standards aren’t that high for general quality, but I wasn’t finding much that met my criteria. As-is I was debating between the Logitech Vibe 100 (Seemed like it was decent all-around, and it comes in white or pink, which is a bonus) or the Corsair Void RGB Elite (mainly for the large ear cups). I know both these options are pretty gamer-y, which is usually bad, and the Corsair headset is ancient, but I haven’t really found anything that looks better. Does anyone have any better options?

This is a little over your price point I think, but it hits all the details! My ears don’t do well being pressed on so can definitely say it’s the most comfortable headset I’ve worn. Battery has lasted a while too! Mine is pushing 4 years old and still going very strong.
Have you looked into bone conduction headphones? I’ve had a set for about 3 years now and it’s still going strong. It has its pros and cons for sure, but I’m a huge fan. Mine is the Openrun Pro by Shokz. Maybe a hair beyond your budget, but should last really well for you
I find the fit very nice, bit I would not recommend it for doing calls nor for having. Whenever I’m calling anyone with it, they hardly understand me. And for gaming is Bluetooth not the way to go if you’re playing any multiplayer games sadly, due to the used protocol when having speech enabled turning the audio in a mono shitshow. I find the audio decent enough when outside, but if you want to actually listen to music, there are loads of better options.
I don’t know any headphones that do all 3 of those things decently at that price point so I think you need to prioritise which functions matter more to you. In my experience, in that price range specifically, I would suggest Logitech for video conferences Skullcandy for music (specifically metal, other genres fare better on different headphones) unfortunately for gaming you can’t use a wireless headphone with a mic without audio quality taking a huge hit
I have both the Steelseries Arctis 1 & 7 headsets. I’d happily recommend either of them, though 7 might be out of your budget.
The 1 is my office pair. It has long battery life, the wireless range is decent, and the usb c dongle means you can use them with a cell. The sound insulation is good considering it uses mesh pads and as a glasses wearer they’re pretty comfortable.
The audio quality isn’t amazing, it’s a bit boomy for my tastes. There is also a physical mute button on the back of the cup that sometimes gets knocked to mute when I put them down which is a bit embarrassing in calls. Otherwise I haven’t had any issues with them.

But then they started pushing Steelseries GG and the experience just deteriorated from there. The new Arctis models are just awful, it’s like they didn’t understand why people liked chat mix
I also have an Arctis 1- I paid ~$70 USD- and I’d recommend them as well. They’re very comfy, and the mesh pads mean they’re reasonably breathable. I have zero complaints with the battery life- I’ve never had it manage to die during a very solid day of use. Though if I forget to charge them overnight they usually die sometime the next day. And that’s after nearly 2 years of use- I bought them in June 2023.
Interestingly, I’ve had a very different experience with the mute switch. I find it pretty stiff. Which I’d say is a good thing. The volume wheel next to it, however, is really easily moved. I occasionally turn the volume down accidentally just taking the headset on and off.
Also: If you have a phone case the USB C dongle might not fit. I have to remove my case to use them with my phone. Not a huge deal, but worth mentioning.
Maybe a plus, maybe not depending on your preferences, but I think they look normal. They’re not explicitly gamer-y, or anything. I wouldn’t feel embarrassed wearing them in public like I might some jagged RGB’d monstrosity.
I gotta disagree with you. I’ve tried the Arctis 1, 5, and 7 and they were all trash at audio conferencing - lots of complaints of static and audio cutting out from my clients. When I contacted their support they said that their headsets aren’t meant to be “business quality” and only to be used for gaming. I returned them and went Logitech.
Sounds like there was something wrong with your audio jack. I’ve had stellar comments about all of my Steelseries.
They’re wireless, so no, it’s not an audio jack issue lol. Other brands worked fine. Steelseries used to be godly in the 2000s but they’re trash now.

I bought the Arctis 5 back in 2020 and its been solid. I’ve used it for meetings basically every work day since then and it is still going strong, never had any issues. I agree about the audio quality not being the greatest, its fine for voices but not good for music.
I really like Steelseries. Pick whichever fits your budget for the features you want. I’ve even bought used ones and they’ve been great.
I changed the foam ear pads to leatherette pads for a little better sound isolation.
Get something with a good mic. You and your friends will thank me later.

I have the wired version currently, but I need something wireless, and the wireless version is out of my budget unfortunately. $230 CAD.

They have a slight lag, but work reasonably well and sit well for long calls. And they’re cheap.

Features noise cancellation, a delight when in public transportation. Audio conference seems to work good, never had anyone complaining about how I sound. They’re confy enough, charge over USB C. And also, they still can be wired with a standard mini-jack cord.
Those look good, but unfortunately, at least here in Canada, they $250 - pretty far outside my budget.
Have you looked in the second hand market? Higher end pairs are most of the time build pretty well, so still hold up even after years of use.

Avoid the Corsair, they’re horrible for teleconferences. I can’t speak to that particular Logitech model, but I’ve had good luck with their other professional headsets.
Personally for wireless situations I use Samsung Galaxy Buds for audio and a wired mic.
