Please do not make extension cords with two male ends like that. They are often called “suicide cords” for a reason.

Then again, maybe that’s part of the joke!

People at work tell me my phone voice is so nice and soothing, but they don’t know it’s shaving hours off my life each time like a cigarette.

How does ADHD factor into this, medically or scientifically speaking? Does ADHD inherently make call center type work more difficult?

Here’s my take: It factors in because our work life is built more about typical type minds, and doesn’t work well with ADHD type minds. So by the end of a day you’re feeling drained.

I’m not currently medicated for adhd, but I’ve been curious to ask. Has anyone had success with medication dealing with the social battery aspect? It’s one of my worst symptoms, and really impacts work.

It seems to vary and depends on both the meds you use and the kind/severity of ADHD you have.

I find I’m social without meds. On meds is fine but I’m not convinced it’s better

A friend of mine does not function normally without meds. He needed meds to balance out and have fun while out.

Step one is to get medicated! Starts with getting diagnosed, then finding a psych after that.

Sometimes I find I’ll get overstimulated during my medication, and after the meds wear off, I get one hell of a headache.

Adderall helps me with that quite a bit. Not to the point where I can keep it up all day, but I can at least not have a mental breakdown after talking to three people at work
