In 2022, I upgraded from a 750ti to an RTX 2060 (12gb). The 750ti was such an incredible budget GPU back in the day, and it served me well for many years. I just fear that the days of good budget GPUs are long gone.

I went from a 750M (my laptop, that I still have) to a RX580. It’s starting to show its age but I haven’t encountered a game that’s unplayable yet.

Had the rx580 for years, great graphics card. Reliable, good value, in my rig not too loud. Gave it to my brother in law last year, his daughter is still very happy with it.

About to build an entirely new PC, my current build is using a 1660 ti and an i5 9400f.

The new build will have a Radeon rx 7800xt and a Ryzen 5 7600x.

Went from a custom 1070Ti with an ASUS closed loop AIO and NZXT G12 to the 4070 Dual.

I’ve noticed a bit higher frame rates in demanding games which I can now all play on ultra. Worth it? Not really, no.

Still sitting on a GTX 1660. I want to update but it’s fine and hasn’t been a priority. I want to update more for local AI than graphics performance.

late 2019, bought a used ASUS ROG laptop with a GTX1070. The LCD screen fucking sucks, because it gets all fucky when it heats and guess what? All the computer heat is blasted on it.

Still worth it, tho. I was sporting an old, 2012 ASUS Ultrabook with a GT 740M card and since I was doing lots of 3D printing, the older computer was struggling with files over 20MB (models with over 400k vertices, give or take)

Just replaced an Nvidia 1070 with an Intel arc b580. Not sure yet, I haven’t had much time to play around with it.

If by “upgrade” you mean actually pulling out an old card and replacing it with a higher spec card, then it’s been a VERY long time. I usually get a high end card when I build a new system, and that generally stays together until I’m ready to upgrade everything.

I’ve currently got a RTX 3090, and haven’t really been feeling any pressure to upgrade. I’ll probably ride this one out for another few years if nothing majorly changes, before i build a whole new system with whatever high end components are available at that time.

From a 280 to a 3080. Enough of a leap to keep me going for as long as I had the 280.

Used to have a GTX 1060. It served me well for several years. Went with a used RTX 4060. The difference was staggering. It was worth it for the price. It’ll last me just as long as the 1060 did.

About two years ago, from 2080ti to 4080. Nothing nvidia makes is “worth it” but I do use it a lot on a 77" 4k OLED TV and pretty much all games I play run quite well with all the goodies turned on (which includes DLSS, usually Quality, and framegen sometimes which can let me run DLAA), so in that sense I at least get some good mileage out of it.

My power bill is not great…

About 4 yrs ago, I was on a loaned 980ti and wanted to upgrade to a 6800XT for my new pc. Supply issues ensue and while I got lucky in being present for a supply drop on amd.com, I was too late for the 6800XT, there were still some 6900XT’s in stock, so I bought that. Haven’t regretted it.

I thought perhaps to upgrade to the 9070XT, but the performance jump is too small. Maybe next gen.
