Google is clearly planning to pull another Manifest V3 on us Android users.
Just to be clear: Android is NOT becoming closed source! Google remains committed to releasing Android source code (during monthly/quarterly releases, etc.) , BUT you won’t be able to scour the AOSP Gerrit for source code changes like you could before.
I’m downstream of that (LineageOS, GrapheneOS) so that absolutely affects me. Worse, I expect this is the first step towards making Android entirely closed source.
This means I need a Linux tablet/phone next.
