Droll, deadpan, art school vibe, sort of reminiscent of Nico. This got played a lot on shows/stations/playlists I listened to in 2020.
I love the guitars from this group and I appreciate their unique sound but I just can’t get into them. I thought maybe I just didn’t like her vocals but then I heard her featured on this Sleaford Mods song.
Having had a good listen, I’m not that into the bulk of Dry Cleaning’s work (I also think it’s a terrible name) but I like this song. Something clicks with the elements, which sometimes happens with songs, right?
@kvn2@Aesecakes Kinda the same for me- I thought the guitar work was some of the best I’ve heard on recent albums, and I enjoy her quirky deadpan delivery. I think maybe though a whole album of it is just a little much.

Force 10 From Navarone - Sleaford Mods feat Florence Shaw
I love her voice and deadpan delivery on this song. I think it works really well with the drum machine and DIY dirty synth sound.
So maybe it’s just the specific combination that Dry Cleaning put together that doesn’t work for me.

I have a playlist of bands with terrible names that are much worse than Dry Cleaning. I will start posting some.
