GmsCompatConfig is the text-based configuration for the GrapheneOS sandboxed Google Play compatibility layer. It provides a large portion of the compatibility shims and sets the maximum supported versions for Play services and the Play Store.

@[email protected] not related to this, but a reply’s as good a place as any: are the recent changes to AOSP’s development process going to affect GrapheneOS? https://www.androidauthority.com/google-android-development-aosp-3538503/

(And thanks for my daily driver phone OS for years now! GrapheneOS has worked flawlessly since day 1.)

@[email protected] It won’t be a major change because the parts we needed most to port our changes early were already not developed in public. It will be a minor reduction in what we have available early, which is a step in the wrong direction but not a large one. We’re working on getting partner access so we can port everything early without relying on it being public early.

@[email protected] See our response thread at https://xcancel.com/GrapheneOS/status/1905023779757015397#m (from the first one, it just doesn’t display well if we link to the first).
