All Red Hat had to do was stop talking and the problem would eventually go away, the problem is nobody ever stops talking and every time they do the RHEL problem only keeps getting worse and worse

    I think this time the problem isn’t going to go away…they got a pass after Centos but they’re showing a pattern of behavior now.

      I think OP meant the PR problem would eventually fade if beligerent CEOs could just STFU. Seems to be a pattern this year.

        Open source plus profit motive equals spicy. This isn’t a new problem. You can look at the history of how Windows was trying to fight Linux. It wouldn’t surprise me if Microsoft started trying to take over Linux again in 10 to 15 years.

            MS is doing a weird double-edged sword. Lots of cool stuff like actually running a headless Linux VM under Windows while integrating system components and open sourcing stuff like .NET, but then on the other hand forcing Edge, Bing, and ads on its users. Like, the goodwill of cool dev and lower management work obliterated by hostility of upper management.
