I’m making legitimate criticism of my “democracy” when you bring up controlled opposition, to show you that calling my system a democracy as opposed to China is fucking ridiculous. You don’t accept criticism of your system and you call it “whataboutism”, when in reality we’re discussing two different political systems because you’re calling one of them authoritarian which is comparative to the other. Chinese people are well on the way to have more rights than we do. While the EU elects far right leaders (courtesy of the oligarchic antidemocratic media conglomerate) and the US literally elects a Sieg-Heil Nazi (courtesy of the same media), China just passed serious legislation on regulating and protecting citizens from facial recognition.
