Reddit mods owe spez absolutely nothing and I’m hoping they not only stick to their guns, but also that spez goes through with his veiled threats. Why? Because then I can donate to the mod’s breach of contract lawsuit.

Spez’s heart palpitations over his future failed (?) ipo is a fantastic watch. My popcorn is ready.

I would be absolutely shocked if the mods have a leg to stand on legally. It’s almost certain that the site/account EULA has the legal equivalent of “reddit can do whatever it wants” as one of the clauses.

All that said, reddit will die without mods providing free work so it’s going to come down to how good a job the suckers they hand the subs to do. For my money I’d bet if you thought the current mods are a bunch of power tripping assholes you ain’t seen nothing yet. Anyone who actually cared about maintaining a good community and good content will have already fled the site, so it’s likely the ones still sticking around see this as an opportunity to take over popular subs that they wouldn’t have been allowed within 100 feet of previously.

And many subreddits have opened normally pretending nothing happened and of course they didn’t mention the threats they got as a message hahahah

Today is the deadline. I’m real curious about what will unfold. I’m hoping the mods stick to it and/or evolve their protests. Hopefully Reddit will turn to a bigger cesspool and the IPO fails when investors shy away.
