Who gives a shit? uBlock origin sure as fuck don’t care.
I think you are misunderstanding the article. This is about choosing what categories are shown as ads on your own website or app rather than what ads you as an end user see
what kind of monster puts ads on their website?
My hosting costs are ~$500 a month. I get about $118 a month from Patreon subs. I also get $200 a month from a single advertiser. Still need to pay ~$200 a month out of pocket.
Ads suck, sure, but shit’s expensive for hobbyists.
No I understood fine, I don’t care what ads your website or anyone elses chooses to display and I never will because I will always block them no matter what.
Note, you can still use the “Video Games, Consoles & Accessories” and “Online Games & Puzzles” general categories or their subcategories to block ads from video games, online games, and downloadable games if you believe these types of ads are unsuitable for your users.
Literally no story here at all. They’re moving the block from one section to another. Google implements OpenRTB which has a field in requests for blocking arbitrary IAB categories
In the same article it says that there are two other categories for games, so this is actually just cleaning up things and is a rare debloating effort by Google.
Once again, tabloid journalists continue to prove exactly how much their work is worth and what type of value they bring to society.
let’s see… who’s win…
Adguard with fully custom adblock filters vs Google AdSense.
NextDNS with all filters enabled vs Google AdSenseI… What? Who the fuck?
