I admin/am with a curator group that crowdsources this within Steam itself, alongside noting when DRM free alternatives are available when the Steam copies aren’t DRM free (which happens sometimes).

Yes, I’ll regularly run the script I wrote to add new games from the wiki.
edit: I also plan to make the script available once it’s in a better state than “let’s spend a few hours slapping stuff together.”

Nope, it’s an optional module of Steamworks. (And using Steamworks at all is also optional.)
