When I was taught about the Texas war of independance from Mexico they never talked about slavery. I genuinely do not know how they accomplished that. Mexico was painted as the bad guy and I am still not over that.

Mexico supported the Spanish Republic when it was under attack by the fascists and took in many refugees, while other countries remained neutral, and refused to acknowledge Franco.

Then much later, Mexico refused to pay for a wall.
