Edit: bismuth. That’s cool.
Rather than silicon, the Peking University team built their transistor using bismuth oxyselenide (Bi₂O₂Se) for the channel, and bismuth selenite oxide (Bi₂SeO₅) as the gate material.
But, being real, you can’t expect headlines to convey everything. Try publishing a news article with that list of chemicals as the headline anywhere but an industry journal or general science journal and most people don’t know what it means.
