It’s a nice thought, but even useless people have money. Just think of the last 50 dumbasses you talked to, almost all of them at least had some pocket change, and it’s likely that at least a half-dozen were moderately successful.
I actually do occasionally play dumb on purpose, especially at work if I get an annoying customer. People tend to be less angry and more sympathetic if they think you’re a complete idiot stumbling through life.
I was a legend for the day I played off an irate customer with my autism symptoms.
I would say that some people under-perform because they’re being exploited. Being vulnerable is not ameliorated by productivity, but most of us recognize that this post is not accurate… right?
