It is a reference to the Superman film (1978). This scene was truly scary when I was a kid and its weirdness very likely has something to do with it.

Yeah, I have an old SSD in an SSK container and that’s where I’ve banished windows to. As long as GRUB can find the right drive and system partition, it’s not hard.
Nice, I prefer to keep the windows bootloader entirely segregated on another drive
Look for Windows To Go, it’s a cool way of creating a portable install.
