Here’s the weird thing. Best Korea is the best country ever and is not authoritarian (made up word) or oppressive at all, yet they prefer to live in the evil imperialist west? Like I know the whole “if you love that country so much why don’t you blah blah” is old and tired, but if they GENUINELY believe the hype, legitimately why wouldn’t they want to live there?

I might be conflating them with one of the many other tankies I have tagged, so I can’t say I know for sure. If anyone can fact check me that’d be welcome.
What I do know is that there are some tankies on ml who live in the US, and I can’t comprehend why they wouldn’t leave for best Korea.
I find that they aren’t that different from magats. They want Simple Solutions to complex problems. And strong men to implement it. They don’t want to have to deal with endless debates involved in democracy or even in anarchy.

You will always be confused when things don’t work the way you thought they would.
