Welcome to today’s daily kōrero!
It doesn’t have to be me making the thread, first in first served. If you are here on a day and there’s no daily thread, feel free to create it!
Anyway, it’s just a chance to talk about your day, what you have planned, what you have done, etc.
So how’s it going?
The suuuuun! The sun is out and it’s gonna get up to 15° today, so I’m gonna get all the laundry done that I can lol
What a rainy/cloudy month or so it’s been in Ōtautahi.
Yes it’s looking like we’re out of the storm in tamakimakaurau. Air feels fresh.
You guys have snow down there yet?
Nah I’m in the city we don’t really get snow here. They got some up Mt Hutt way a couple weeks ago I think, but not enough to do much with. Making their own to ski.
I was about to take the clothes out on the airer and a bloody rain cloud was just blowing in on the horizon! At least the winds will get it on its way soon hopefully.
We have all the windows open now, trying to get some of this moisture out. Nice to have the option to dry clothes outside however briefly.
Dehumidifier’s been working overtime the last week, so have managed to get things dry inside in a reasonable time
I don’t expect the sun to last where we are, but you did remind me to do some laundry :)
Don’t fall for it! I saw the blue skies, went outside, and it’s cold.
I broke a 36 hour fast with an avocado I’m still hungry!!
Why fasting and why an avocado??
Possibly related? https://lemmy.nz/post/133509
Ah yes, the antishit post
I found that immediately after reading this one and wondered…
This has probably been covered numerous times on here, but I have been routinely checking the memmy community for updates around availability on the appstore, but I just noticed that when I go to the memmy community via lemmy.nz (lemmy.nz/c/[email protected]), I am not seeing the latest posts that I see when I go directly to lemmy.ml/c/memmy
This is most likely an issue with lemmy.ml. Many of the big instances are under a lot of strain because of lots of new reddit users, and lemmy.ml has been having issues off and on constantly for a month.
When new posts are posted to the community, lemmy.ml should send out an update to all instances that have users subscribed. But because of the load this may be behind, often by quite a lot. There isn’t a whole lot we can do other than let them try to improve performance and wait for the new user rush to die down. Sometimes it gets better with time and sometimes we seem to never get the posts, it’s happening for other instances too.
Lemmy is also pretty new and a bit buggy so I wouldn’t rule out it being a bug. We try to keep Lemmy up to date with the most recent releases but all in all there are many, many bugs and people are working on them as fast as they can.
I see I see. Thank you again for that explanation :) I thought I was the one doing something wrong.
Nah. And even if people keep having the same issue, it’s good to have people report it so we know it’s still an issue.
Power out in North East Valley, Dunedin for the morning apparently due to a fault, wind probably has something to do with it. Kids are playing nicely together without technology, for now…
Phew, came back on, and the children rejoiced.
Need to finish my end of financial year reports today. And also view a house. Screw the rental market in this country!
Gave our 4 weeks notice to end our Tenancy today, and the Property Manager came back to us and said if she could show the place to someone tomorrow.
I asked if they would like to me vacate the property for the viewing, and they’ve explicitly asked if I could be present for the viewing. Hmmm… I wonder why?
The only thing I can think of is that the prospective tenant specifically asked for you to be there. Not a bad idea from their perspective.
Yeah, can’t really think of anything else. Though I wonder why I am thinking about it at all haha
As someone born in the US, happy getting drunk and blowing stuff up day to any other lurking Americans.
In other news I just booked a flight to the US to go visit family. AFK having minor panic attack about spending.
