Just started myself and it is different enough to be engaging despite having watched season 1 of the show. Besides, the show only covered about half of the first book.
I’m like 3/4 of the way through the first book and figured I’d watch the series. The first episode is like the first 20 chapters. And there are definitely a ton of differences.
Would highly recommend the books.
