    Bloke I know is a funny lad - the sort of guy who is just naturally laugh-a-minute. Has the gift of the gab; can tell a great story; and could make reading the phone book sound hilarious.

    A good while back, we went on a Christmas night out to a comedy club in Reading, and between acts, our colleague just came back from the bog, saw the empty stage, and went up for a laugh. Turns out the mic was live.

    He stood there for a good few minutes, freestyling a “set”, and the audience warmed to him. It was only when the next act was scheduled to come on that the staff clocked that he was just a randomer, that he got shuffled off and sent back to our table.

    The balls on the guy. Legend.

    Two stupid stories :

    Sometimes the people who sign/sell shit at conventions and similar are expecting to go above and beyond as a matter of course, while sometimes, you really don’t have that much of a passion for their work, but do appriciate it enough to want a signed print of their work.

    I was at a big MTG tournament, and during downtime, I saw that Pete “Fear Me” Venters of Mons’s Goblin Waiters fame was selling prints and signing prints.

    I went up to him and asked him for a signed copy of “Mons’s Goblin Waiters” and he told me a small anecdote about … something behind the scenes. I just wanted the print to be honest. Still nice of him to go above and beyond.

    I was attending a cannabis fest , and really wanted a certain type of edible. No one was manning the stall so I just waited there. Several people came up to me to buy things and I had to explain several times that I was also wanting to buy things and not running the stand.

    I told you the stories were stupid, it’s your fault if you read this and got bored.

    I almost met the King of Jordan. He had a walk on role in Voyager. I had the DvDs but the job ended up falling through, and we never met the King. So I couldn’t get my autograph.
