So, now that we are on the last leg of the competition, I wanted to put forward some thoughts I had on this first iteration of the competition, and ask for some input.

First : I think this month went well, overall. I enjoyed the daily posting and getting to chat with each of you throughout the competition. I think there is more to this than just a group of random people showing up. I think if we didn’t have a core group that was committed to the spirit of the competition, this could have fallen apart quickly. So, for that, I applaud all of the participants.

Second : I’ve been really happy with how much the group has grown in this first month. Now, while the sidebar says we have 70 subscribers, there are about 20-30 of them that are bots that joined to promote “new/small communities”. But that still means we have around 30-35 subscribers. (Including one that I was very surprised to see subscribing very early on…).

Third : The future. This is where I wanted to open things up. What should we do now that we have a community established? I have a bunch of thoughts and ideas, but I want to follow what the community wants to do. So, here’s my idea:

1. Post your ideas. And let’s have a discussion about them.
2. When the discussion has reached a point where there is a decision to make, I’ll post a poll.
3. If there is additional conversation to be had, we can have in the comments for the poll.

Hopefully this sounds like a good idea to everyone.
