So, I have a number of different versions of the Epyx Fast Load cartridge images, and a hardware TFW8b “Fast Load Reloaded” cartridge. Loading any of these cart files or plugging in the cartridge results in a black screen. Overlay works, but when I close it the screen is black.
Is there a version of Fast Load that works with the C64U?
Have you tried any other carts? Epyx Fast Load was kind of outdated, surpassed by others within a few years.
Yes, other carts have been fine; I have a few. All work OK except Fast Load images (and the Fast Load cart).
In other news, though, I spent $32 on JiffyDOS ROMs (kernal, 1541-II, 1571, 1581) and am now running those on my C64U, and that seems to work great.
It feels so weird seeing C64 questions. And I love it so much!
Update: A firmware update fixed this.
