Hey you all, i started using LibreOffice since i switched to Linux, but i didn’t used it often yet so I’m still getting the hang of it. Since I’m gonna start College next week, I’m interested in what extensions you can recommend. Some weeks ago i read that it’s recommend to install some fonts, so when you exchange documents with other students that are using Microsoft Office, there will be less of formatting issues.

So can you recommend me some useful Extensions, e.g. fonts for the situation above, that can help me in everyday life (as a student)?

I’m looking forward to your suggestions :)

The browser extension is proprietary? Wtf? I remember pointing it at my own languagetool http server (ran on my own machine) half a year ago.

In fact, because there was no option to disable languagetool per site, I would simply not run the server when I didn’t want it to spellcheck lol.

I have a policy to never install any non open source browser extensions, and I assumed it was open source because languagetool is open source.

But if the extension actually isn’t open, nothing stops them from removing features like using your own server, and/or enshittifying. Glad I stopped long ago.

Is there a proper open source languagetool browser extension?
