I suspect it’s less a case of “won’t turn on the heat”, and more a case of “there’s no heat to turn on”. I don’t know Prairieland, but they’ve been looking into converting warehouses into detention centers - places that have walls, but which lack critical infrastructure like heat, air conditioning, sufficient toilets, shower facilities, etc. It’s the same playbook as the Nazis: most of the deaths in camps (in Germany at least) weren’t the result of explicit murder, but sheer neglect: minimal protection from the elements, minimal nutrition, minimal medical care, maximum work and cruelty, letting diseases rip through the camps - that’s where the deaths came from. That’s where most of ICE’s deaths will come from, as well.

Most warehouses have gas blast heaters. If for anything else, many generic warehouses will house things they don’t want to allow to freeze.

I’ve worked in warehouses in the South, but not Texas. Anyway the ones I’ve been in absolutely did not have any kind of heating.

I guess it depends on what’s being stored. I was always working with primarily construction materials or hardgoods

If it is as cold as this the warehouses would either close or get heaters. It’s easy to get portable propane or kerosene heaters. They’re safe to use without ventilation and are cheap

There’s no way the SS are going to let emergency services into their concentration camps, that would be admitting that they willfully murder citizens.

This is the kind of thing that is next to impossible to convince anyone of before it happens, making communication pointless.
