      Yeah, it feels like their models are constantly about half a year behind the competition. That said, half a year old models are getting better and better.

      I’m feeling rather comfortable using this for assisted, i.e. non-vibe coding of my personal projects. It’s a bit like working with an enthusiastic junior developer whereas Claude feels like a more experienced developer who catches things like corner cases I never thought about.

      Hopefully Mistral will get there with more data.

        I’d say more than half a year. I bought it for a year and I feel ok using it for sensitive or potentially sensitive stuff. I wanted to run my own model, but its to much work for someone who doesn’t even do that for a hobby. Anyway, it’s way worse than the mainstream models. It’s fine for very basic stuff.
