Do you have a VPN you like? I’ve never seen a NordVPN advert, and have used their service for years. Then again I have an actively hostile attitude towards advertising; that is why I’m on FEDI.
Not the person you’re replying to, but Nord sponsors a lot of “entertainment” youtubers. If you watch those kinds of videos you’re inundated with their ads.
I second Mullvad. I can pay with Monero or even cash (as in, cash in an envelope), so it’s not tied to me, it has a few DNS filters, works on mobile, and has a pretty nice amount of endpoints.
It does get blocked sometimes, i.e not being able to watch YT or access Reddit (which I haven’t visited since, their loss), but otherwise it’s pretty solid.
What I like the most is the whole idea around Mullvad browser - a browser that should have exactly the same fingerprint across all users, and if you add the fact that most of the Mullvad browser users are also users of Mullvad VPN, you will get a lot of unfilterable noise with hundreds of users having the same IP and fingerprint. Because with any other VPN+hardened browser combo, there’s probably something that can be pretty unique about you.

Mullvad is a solid choice.
Ironically for this context, I’ve seen billboards and even a bus decked out in Mullvad ads here! (Los Angeles) But I agree that they seem solid.
