      Respectfully, I don’t think thats their intent:

      They created a new, water- and oil-proof food packaging material made of mycelium from mushrooms and cellulose nanofibrils (CNFs) from wood that easily decomposes once its purpose is finished.

        Eaten by microbes. The coating is fungus so it probably will decompose in compost or dump.

          Yeah that’s what I meant. Guess we could eat it too but not much nutrition in it for us. 😄
