On Monday, it was revealed that soccer superstar Catarina Macario will depart Chelsea FC Women and join the San Diego Wave. The deal is reported to be about $8 million for five years, making it one of the largest contracts in the history of women’s professional soccer.
I’m curious what her current injury status is. I don’t think she’s been playing for Chelsea. She was really good for the uswnt last year, but was absent this year so far.
I don’t much follow the WSL, but iirc she scored a bunch during the USWNT friendlies in December. I think she’s back and fully healthy.
