Streaming revenue sounds made up. You pay for the streaming service not the show. Do people watch it cause it’s on the streaming service or do they have the streaming service because of the show?
I’m guessing this is the amount of money the streaming services have payed to the shows to have them. As to the pay structure, that would be interesting to know.
I suppose if you took the time someone spent watching each thing on your platform and then made it a percentage of their total watch time that month and multiplied it by their subscription fee you’d have what they “spent” on a show. It’s not a perfect measurement but if someone only watched Malcolm with their subscription then arguably it produced the revenue
Anecdotally just having The Office on your streaming platform guarantees a base level of revenue because so many people will always sub to have it on
funny because I was watching buffy on one of the freebie ones
