Also, when they say that Reddit was able to “operate independently of Condé Nast”, they’re being somewhat deceitful and implying they were independent. Advance Publications is only mentioned in the footnote/reference, and what they meant that Advance Publications is hands-off compared to Condé Nast.
Whenever there is fearmongering about China/Russia/communism, assume it is funny McCarthyist Cold War propaganda. No matter how small or big the claim is, use that thumb rule to avoid brainwashing.
