My family currently uses life360(iOS and android). But I hate their privacy policy. I’m looking for an alternative. The thing that’s difficult is I can’t find one that’s opt in to each other. Like my parents are split so they dont want to share with each other but the rest of us do. Prefer selfhosted but anything is better that where we are at. Thanks!!
I’m in the same boat, and I haven’t found any good alternatives just yet. There is hope though, I’m following the development of an app called “Zood Location”, which is foss. It only has an Android version at the moment, but an iOS version is in development. Here’s their website: https://www.zood.xyz/
At the bottom it says to download from the Play Store but it’s also on F-Droid. I emailed the creator about the lack of iOS support and just asked about that, and they responded saying they would email when it’s ready for beta testing, so maybe you can do the same!
Overall though, there’s just no good solution that’s easy right now.
