For the past week, I was receiving error messages in the Sync app that I was not logged in to lemmy.sdf.org, even though it appeared that I was. I got tired of the error messages in Sync, so I logged out. Now when I try to log back in to lemmy.sdf.org in the Sync app, I get an error message. I know it’s not a password issue, since I logged out and logged back in to lemmy.sdf.org via a browser with the same password. Not sure if this is a Sync issue or a lemmy.sdf.org issue. Anyone know what’s going on and have a fix? Thank you.
Or you can use a alt on another instance in the meantime
Yeah, for sure. Those are the options
I just created an account on lemmy.world, because I missed the interface of Sync. I didn’t backup my Sync settings, so I couldn’t import my communities. So as I’m manually adding all of my communities to lemmy.world, lemmy.world goes down. Makes me appreciate lemmy.sdf.org even more.
Lemmy world is a utter shitshow, please don’t use that instance. Use Sh.itjust.works or lemmy.ee or ani.social
They are all pretty stable and don’t have assholes as admins, at least from my experience.
We’re now in the second week of an incompatible pre release version on SDF. Other instances have also reported federation problems with this instance. I haven’t seen any sort of statement here about the situation or action to fix it. People in glass houses etc…
I came to Lemmy largely because of the Reddit API switch off and that’s effectively what this instance has done…
Yes but not on purpose, i don’t know if a downgrade is technically possible without causing many problems. The federation problem was before the upgrade, maybe SDF upgraded to fix that and now its just broken again…
I’m regretting going with them as an alternate instance already. I’ll check out Sh.itjust.works. There are some communities on Sh.itjust.works that I’ve enjoyed. Thanks.
Stability (in terms of instance not going down often due to technical issues) and an instance that doesn’t block other instances are my two highest priorities. If I don’t want to see particular communities, I’d rather block them myself. Personally, I usually can’t stand memes, so having my everything feed saturated with memes annoys me.
I personally just blocked Lemmy.world and lemmy.ml wich got rid of most shit i don’t want to see, its just low quality spam.
Interesting approach. Might be worth experimenting with.
