I’m using Firefox on an Android phone to view Lemmy. When I click a post at the second page of posts and go back after reading, it takes me to the first page of posts. Am I doing something wrong?

No, this is a known issue. I can only suggest holding the list to post to
open in new tab.Use m.lemmy.world - much better experience than the default UI. (It is the Voyager front end, previously wefwef)
This is a problem in a lot of sites, the quick fix normaly is to use a new tab or to find a mobile client, i use lemmy on liftoff, but there are other good apps too like jerboa.
You could just open everything in a new tab
