You go in blind, you get a mage and no matter what you do, if the enemy team is half competent, they steam roll the mages even if you have an adc that just tickles them.

What is your strategy? I can’t seem to beat them. I just got beat by a full tank LUX because our team lacked damage somehow even though we itemized against her and some off tank Yone. And these are off-meta. The meta ones are even harder to beat.

What do I do? Pls halp.

Liandrys, void staff, morellos, raileis if you cant escape, warmogs, boots, something else

Best you can do it poke over time, try not to engage, stay alive, and hope your team isnt going to engage too early

See, I try those things but even if we get them to half health before they all-in, they still go in and kill. It’s a bit ridiculous.

If your champ doesn’t deal %max-HP damage or true damage in any way, I would just continue to build damage and target the enemy squishy. If their tank is on top of you and you can’t dish out any damage without dying then get some defenses. Rely on your allies who do deal maxhp / true damage to deal with the Tank.

I’ve thought about building tank to go vs tanks on just whatever that can remotely build the items as a last ditch attempt. Is that viable?

I’ve done it where I built full tank on mages like Syndra, Heimerdinger, karma and just get all up in the enemy squishy faces. Keep the carries distracted while my team’s damage dealers clean up. It works if your team doesn’t really have any Frontline to keep the tanks and bruisers at bay, it works better if the enemy team doesn’t notice you’re a tank. Vayne, Kindred, and other %hp dealing ADC’s can also go mostly tank, just get a bit of attack speed after the first tank item.

Unless they’re all tanks, just focus on the squishies and keep space from the tanks. Not every champ can melt tanks, rely on your teammates who can. If no one can take down tanks then just ff and go next, sometimes you just get a bad comp that’s just the nature of ARAM

This is what I was afraid of. I even played tank Kled yesterday and he felt so strong vs a bunch of squishies. I got the most kills and did the most damage and the enemy team ff’d before we took their first tower. 🙃

Lots of good suggestions here. I personally like building BotRK, sometimes even on champions it normally doesn’t make sense on (like tanks). The percentage damage is incredibly useful, and it doesn’t always make sense to build AP %-burn items.

Yeah, I’ve even tried ad TF with Bork and felt like I couldn’t even get the two tanks under half health before they ran over my team. And mind you, I even had a Nami with me! Lol I felt so useless

Normally I wouldn’t build both. If I go crit I’m going kraken > ie > bt/ar pen/att sp depending on what you need.

If I’m a guinsuo adc then I’d get a bork

Ahh, I thought they did since they applied on-hit. I think I need to look at some more Vapora Dark to get my adc builds straight then. Thanks!

The only thing that works a bit is getting fed before they do. As a tank enjoyer, it’s difficult to bounce back if you get screwed early

I’ve been in that position so many times, which is why I posted this. Like, we’ll be shitting on the tanks for most of the game, even taking first tower. Then they buy the second item and it’s just impossible to peel them off, and they end up doing more damage.

I’ve even had a Heartsteel Fizz go in vs 4 carries off our carries under tower, kill, and get out with 1/3 health. It was shocking.

As a mage stack cdr and build items with health, tanks won’t be able to kill you and you’ll be able to spam your CC (and damage). Third or fourth item you can build a Warmogs and then you’ll be able to heal up after an engagement.

Mages are generally pretty bad into tanks, and that’s a significant reason why they tend to be weak in ARAM (unless they have great range or are named Brand or Swain). Most of the time you can have viable options to help like Liandry’s, Void Staff, and Rylai’s as others have mentioned. But honestly it might be best to try to reroll into something else. Usually ARAM teams have too much magic damage, and that makes it easy to itemize against.

I remember seeing a discussion over a premade ARAM team with hundreds of games and 99% winrate. They would roll for a comp with 3 melee frontliners, 1 ADC and 1 mage/enchanter. Sometimes the rolls don’t work out like that, but I would try to pick from rolls to fill in those gaps if you want to win. Or just play someone who seems fun, that’s good too.
