Currently on a Red Dead Redemption 2 playthrough, after that I will start Horizon Zero Dawn (haven’t played it yet) and this week I played Firewatch for the first time to take a short break from RDR2

I’m playing Diablo IV and Dave the Diver. Really enjoying both.

I’ve been playing Diablo IV too. First non Steam game I tried on the Deck, and how well it works blows my mind. Used decky to put in custom artwork too so it fits right in with the rest of my games.

I’ve been playing around with a set up where I use the right touchpad to enter mouse mode and click to attack for times I need to aim. But, rest of the inputs are gamepad. What I’d like to do is have it so when I touch the right pad it modeshifts the right trigger into a left mouse click too. Could do same with action layers, but I’m hoping for a more straight forward and less problematic modeshift option.

Got through a lot of Halls of Torment; really enjoy it’s take on a Vampire Surivivors game with an old Diablo aesthetic. Also playing around with Lego Star Wars/Skywalker Saga, because it was on sale and it’s just goofy Star Wars fun. Honestly, I’m probably going to go back or the Switch for more Tears of the Kingdom. Even though I completed the main story, there’s still a lot to do AND I actually have a lot of fun doing it (just needed a break after a couple hundred hours of the game haha).

I put down totk about a month ago while being 3/4 the way through the story. It happened with botw too. Love the game but just needed a break. I only have a switch lite too so really want to get through it so I can start a new save file in yuzu but later on and retire the lite

I have a couple of friends who are just maniacs; one was near 300 hours in and was just halfway through the main story. Once I start getting into the story, it’s really tough for me to keep straying from that because I just want to see how it’s going to unfold. I am glad that I took my time as much as I did, and the ending is absolutely worth it and possibly my favorite Zelda ending ever. I’ve had mixed success with emulation on the Deck, but I’ve only gone as far as trying to emulate WiiU games…not too worried about it as I’ve no shortage of games to enjoy either way, but one day I will really dive into the emulation aspect and get that properly running.

I tried playing Mario galaxy. I think I got everything work using the touch screen. I don’t particularly enjoy the touch screen mechanic it’s taking me out of the game a bit. I assume that worked better on a wii joycon.

I think setting up gyro in that case would work better than the touch screen. That’s how I played through Maro Galaxy back in the day using the Steam Controller and having gyro only activate when I touched the right pad so it wasn’t always going crazy.

Yes I agree I’m not mad about the touch screen aspect. It ruins the platforming. I have a Wii in storage but actually play it on deck due to convenience.

      subnautica

Dave The Diver is out for something 2 weeks. Kind of mix of Subnautica in 3D/semi-2D, Terraria graphics and simplified Overcooked action. Highly recommended, works excellent on Steam Deck.

Currently this is the only game I play on SD, already ~20 hours in it. 😅

Wall World recently became compatible. I started it yesterday and have already run the battery dead twice. It’s an undemanding, 2D roguelite.

Lunistice, Waveland, Cassette Beasts, and Dungeons of Aether.

I got all the enjoyment I can out of Dungeons, so I’m probably going to swap back to Into the Breach for my puzzle fix. Cassette Beasts is finished, unless I want to finish the postgame or hunt bootlegs.

I have never gotten into Pokemon save for the Mystery Dungeon series, but I find it really engaging. Things I like:

        • instead of move selection gated by limiting to 4 moves and limiting PP, there’s AP. You gain 2 AP per turn, and can spend more of it to do more powerful moves.
        • Instead of types doing double/half damage, types give buffs/debuffs which are apropos to that type interaction. (Water “extinguishes” fire, lowering attack)
        • All buffs/debuffs are on a turn timer (attack is lowered for 3 turns)
        • Buffs/debuffs transfer when you switch beasts
        • Stacking the same effect adds turns to the timer rather then strengthening the effect.
        • All timers are visible onscreen under the HP bar
        • Before you confirm an attack, the effect icons show under the highlighted enemy.

Been playing a lot of LOTR: Shadow of Mordor. It’s the best assassin’s creed game I’ve played in years.

Two things Story game Tales of Symphonia(been meaning to tackle the library) so far so good. Great game so far.

Yugioh duel links( some friends of mine play but wow has dueling gotten rediculous with the types of summoning, lot to keep track)

    • installing for next after tales of symphonia will be undertale

I got a bit addicted to duel links during peak Covid. I played a bit of master duel too but off both now. Once you’re in it is great. Slippery slope with the old credit card though

I pretty much grind for loot and get the cards that way. I can still get pretty far without putting in a dime. I like the voices of the cast returning to hear them in the game is super nice.

Another fairly new MMO (anticheat was fixed in January for Linux): Tom Clancy’s The Division 2. Last week tried even their permadeath mode (in-game called “Hardcore”), and survived solo levels 1–30. Steam Deck does have scary stutters due to the game sometimes needing slightly more than the 16 GB RAM, and swapping, as it could lead to fatal disconnect during fights. It is also one of those games that needs > 1 GB of swapfile.
