Full disclosure: I haven’t really listened to this yet. But I’m wondering… Can Pastors really be trusted again in our society? Certainly they can and should be trusted by Christians… But society as a whole seems destined to be more and more suspicious of Christians and Christian leaders.
Stop valuing growth and looking good over doing the necessary, but good things. Don’t get the pastor that puts butts in seats. Get the pastor that is a good person first and foremost.
5 This is why I left you in Crete, so that you might put what remained into order, and appoint elders in every town as I directed you— 6 if anyone is above reproach, the husband of one wife,[a] and his children are believers[b] and not open to the charge of debauchery or insubordination. 7 For an overseer,[c] as God’s steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain, 8 but hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined. 9 He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound[d] doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it.
Don’t get personalities. Get good people.
Stop molesting children. That will get people to start trusting pastors.
We need to have discernment so that we trust those who are trustworthy and don’t trust those who are not. Otherwise is cultic.

Fine I’ll remove the cursing. The point still stands though. People aren’t going to convert to religion if you people insist on not punishing people who molest children. Get your house in order and people will flock to you.
I’m in agreement with some of that. For sure, pastors and leaders who have abused children and others are a scourge on the church and an affront to everything that Jesus taught. And the appropriate response should be outrage and justice, not protection and trying to keep things quiet.
But even if that is improved greatly, I don’t think western society would flock to Christianity.
I’d be happy to be wrong though.
