So, a whole big nothing sandwich in the end. Really strange situation. All teams denying any involvement, meanwhile El Salman under fire. What a shit show.

Once every team denied involvement I was fairly certain nothing would come out of it. The FIA embarrassed themselves yet again

And if they didn’t look into the allegations, they’d be called a Mercedes/Wolff lapdog. I don’t see any problems with looking into allegations. That’s their job.

I agree with this, it was a no win for anyone so the least you could do is stick to the process. All they’ve done is promote an issue and leave a shitload of unanswered questions.

The original FIA statement didn’t even name any names. It were the Wolffs who issued statements along the lines of “We are being investigated and how dare they!”

What’s with condemning any form of investigation in recent years seemingly everywhere? Seems like everyone must make up their mind after an allegation instantly and everyone saying “Hold up, let’s look into this” is immediately victim of a shitstorm.

I wonder if there will be any consequences for letting this happen in the first place.

    Absolute shitshow.

I’ve heard of some opinions saying that all this fuss is to try to set the teams against each other, and after such cheap accusations (while not actually accusing) and this quick withdrawal from the FIA I’m inclined to believe that.

Or some poor little boys’ feelings were hurt because a lady has a job. And let me tell you what, there’s been a lot of that the last couple of days.

In these situations, where an investigation is already announced, it should always be continued. If there is nothing, it would be in the report.

But it is stopped, so there must have been some truth in the allegations. Probably a minor issue. Maybe FIA wants to protect Susie, Toto and a few others.

In an ideal world, one of the two should recuse themselves from the position in the first place, though. And this is why I look down to F1 management. Money undermines values there.
