What is a free and preferably open-source way to automatically move files from one folder to another on android?

My case: Basically my Camera app doesn’t allow for me to set where to store the captured photos, so I have to move them each time. How can I automate this?

I want to make all files that appear in one folder, (/DCIM/Photography_Pro/) moved to (/DCIM/Camera/).

Solved by suggested app in comments; Media Merger on fdroid!

    Run rsync regularly using cron.

    https://crontab.guru

Using rsync is pretty easy, just remember to keep a forward slash at the end of the source and destination.

This is EXACTLY the app I need and fulfills my needs, it doesn’t seem to actually work anymore.

Edit; The app wasn’t able to assign itself permission, even when prompting for it. However, after assigning the correct permissions manually this works flawlessly now! Can even assign other folders and point it to my camera folder. SUPER!

It would be good if possible as I already use SyncThing. But I dont think so?

I think FolderSync can do folder to folder

I use it for backing up to Drive, but it looks like it should work folder to folder.

Not sure if it’s the best option though

I looked at foldersync, but the free version seemed a bit limited and said it had ads.

Ah yep, I think I had the pro version in that case

Hopefully others suggest similar apps. It seems like a simple task

I use Termux + Tasker for this exact functionality. I can provide the scripts and setup to anyone who’s interested.
