The Liberal government is expected next week to finally fulfil a promise Canada made 14 years ago to end federal subsidies that aid in the production of fossil fuels.
This will be news when they’ve actually done it, and haven’t replaced it with the same thing under a different name.
“Instead of subsidies, we’ve negotiated to buy small quantities of fossil-fuels from producers for $1 billion / litre.”
Artisanal crude
The word “unabated” seems to be doing a lot of heavy lifting in the announcement.

Good, as somebody who lives in Alberta, the sooner the oil industry is dead and gone from this province the better.
Butbutbut… There ARE no subsidies!!! /s
seems like it will continue to be slow-rolled. The Conservatives will promise to do both the same, and the opposite.
Good! ✊
The COnservatives will overturn this the first chance they get.
And then PP gets elected as PM.

Good. Now do the same with EV/Solar/Wind subsidies
Why would they do that when the goal is to expand those things?
Why? Are they threatening the world’s climate too?
