Trying out my new camera and lens. I didn’t expect getting such good results with no practice on the R7, but it does 99% of the job.

Which lens at what aperture, out of interest? You have a good shooting angle but even so, it’s impressively sharp across the bee.

      1/1000s, 7.10, 3200 iso, on Canon RF 85mm F2 .

Coming from an EOS 4000D, I can’t express how giddy I am that there is so little grain at those settings. In other news, I’m broke AF .

Heh, the price is not that bad. I mostly do bird photography and keep dreaming of, e.g., the RF 400m F2.8 - now that’s dangerous! My normal lens is the RF 600mm F11 on an R6.

And yes, with modern Canons, an ISO in the low 1000’s still often results in a good photo.

I got a sigma contemporary 150-600mm because I got the impulse control of a toddler. Now that was an expense. Now I just need the adapter rings not to be out of stock so I can try it on the R7 and see how it fares with birds! I’m hyped. The 4000D was a good starter (especially at less than 300€) but it was not adapted at all to fast shutter speeds or ISOs above, say, 800 at most.
