Don’t buy instant? I cannot speak to the price of raw oats in your location, but I can assure you the amount of labor involved in not using instant is minimal, if you use them as a breakfast item that is.
The main uses for oats in my house are:
- to mix in with bread (I’m sure I could use non-instant oats for this)
- to make oat milk
- to add to yogurth
Look into overnight oats, if you’re not vegan, doing a dairy preparation is by far one of the cheapest and easiest breakfast options that actually have decent nutrition.
There are vegan options, but I was not vegan the point where I was an oats enjoyer. So I’ve simply not tested the vegan options.

Cereal mold is usually fusarium, which produces a shitton of different micotoxins, but zearalenone always come to mind cuz sounds like cereal
