help-circle
    • Stardew Valley
    • Skyrim
    • ADOM
    • Burnout Paradise
    • Vegas Solitaire (or I think a decent Solitaire collection is a fair exception to that one rule because you can get many games out of a pack of cards)

Stardew Valley, Skyrim and ADOM for games that you can keep going back to over years and playing in different ways and still discovering new things. Vegas Solitaire for more of a mindless time passer when you don’t want something immersive and involved. Burnout Paradise for something in between complex and mindless and something different once in a while.

Edit: I hope I eventually get rescued though because there’s a LOT of shorter titles that I’d miss.

  • Yeah it’s definitely a right wing christian agenda in this whole thing. Same as with the ‘manosphere’, which started out telling people to be tough and ‘manly’ and has ended up with something like purity culture where they evaluate women to carry their babies for them and vote against women’s rights. I even saw a stat that these same young men that follow the manosphere are starting to turn religious, surprise surprise.

This TERF shit is the same agenda but for women. And the terminology is slightly more sophisticated because it’s aimed at people that actually read and won’t believe just any story about George Soros or whatever. So their version of “woke agenda” is “trans ideology”. But they’re both the same, both fighting to preserve and enforce white christian patriarchal culture onto everyone and push down and eradicate anyone who breaks norms.

And the sad part is that I think a lot genuinely think they’re trailblazing rebels or something. But they’re doing exactly what the conservative religious right wants. The same people that want to see them reduced to kitchen appliances and baby incubators.

  • Absolute favourite:

Kiki’s Delivery Service. Character and story that I relate with most of our of all of the movies. I wish I’d watched it when I was a kid.

    Other favourites:

    • Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind
    • Pom Poko
    • Whisper of the Heart
    • Howl’s Moving Castle
    • The Tale of Princess Kaguya
    • When Marnie Was There

    Almost favourites:

    • Princess Mononoke (I don’t like Ashitaka that much by the end)
    • Spirited Away (only because this is the only Ghibli that I ever came across in the wild before watching all of them, I’m over exposed to it)
    • Earwig and the Witch (love the concept and general story, not a fan of the animation style and a lot of specifics)

  • Last time I answered this with a weird rambly answer as I’m inclined to. This time, thinking about it, my answer is Cate Blanchett. Probably ever since I saw her as Galadriel in the Lord of the Rings movies. Hela in Thor Ragnarok was so awesome as well. I wonder if she’s as tall as she looks in these roles?

Hell yeah. It’s always the extroverts that act like they’re the default and introverts just need to be coaxed out of their shells. I think that it comes from the common misunderstanding that being introverted is the same thing as being socially anxious. I think they probably go hand in hand, in that a socially anxious person is possibly introverted as a defense mechanism but it’s not the same. Being introverted just means that you have a limited social battery that takes longer to change.

  • I don’t. I tried it and I don’t really think it’s my thing. Haven’t explored it top to bottom though, so I’m definitely open to suggestions of channels to check out.

Usually if I’m not impressed in an RPG, I’m watching something fantasy, sci-fi or comic book lol. Also trying to listen to more music again.

  • These days I alternate between binge watching cat and gaming cat. Very rarely reading cat but I want to start balancing it more with the binge watching and gaming.

Knitting cat could represent any art or craft or creative thing. Haven’t been knitting cat in a while. I’d actually like to learn knitting, and sewing though, literally.

Used to be drinking cat regularly but I’ve gone off it in the last few years. A bottle of red on the weekend is starting to sound good again though.

I’m usually laundry cat on Mondays (I hate Mondays…)

And all of that is of course when I’m not sleepy cat. Which includes doomscrolling for me.

This is my jam. A friend of mine described this as having an audience of people in your head that you’ve collected for various reasons, some positive, some toxic and poisonous. Like your best friend, or your mother, or your asshole boss that you have to deal with every day. Living in your head arguing with you and making you justify yourself, or perhaps encouraging you if it’s not a toxic audience member. The audience also changes over the years and as you change, people come and go.

  • Just wanted to give a heads up for the sake of moderation around here that it’s me, previously Secret-Music. Decided to try another instance. Can’t decide on a long term username yet so I’m going to park on this one for the next few months while I figure that out. I already tried lemmy.world briefly when I first got here so I thought I’d go with lemm.ee this time.

Nothing nasty yet from here but it’s definitely eye opening seeing both upvotes and downvotes again here on Lemmy.

  • I’m trying a new account on a new instance, using this app for the first time too, so this seems like a suitable first comment to make. I am blown away so far and I wonder why this app is never mentioned wherever the conversation about Lemmy apps comes up.

Really just came to say, thank you for this awesome app. The multicommunities feature alone is going to change my experience of Lemmy.
