1·1 天前Looks like the formula is: each of the male cast aren’t what they seem.
Also, this is going to be harem, isn’t it?
Edit: I really like the power-reversal between Utage and Ouri in the lift. Headstrong MCs are the best.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Places to increase a image's quality (without using AI)?English
32·1 天前increase a image’s quality (without using AI)
This is straight-up not possible. To increase an image’s quality is to fill in blanks with non-existent information. You’d definitely need some sort of extrapolative image processing technique for that.

Anime@ani.social•[Discussion] What anime did you think at the start would be special to you (and be proven right)?English
5·5 小时前There are two main categories of being special to me.
The first is when characters show some maturity - or just a lack of stupidity - in their thoughts and behaviour in the first episode. Some examples include:
- Thors from Vinland Saga
- multiple characters from Frieren
- now that I think about it, plenty of anime from my Peak Drama list fits this criterion
These anime would end up having stories, characters and writing that are top-notch, clearly a cut above the rest.
The other is when the show subverts expectation by not following stupid tropes from the start; these are usually parodies. Some examples include:
- Cautious Hero - dude who got isekai-ed isn’t some loser to begin with (i.e. no wish-fulfillment)
- Konosuba - dude who got isekai-ed did not get cheats (i.e. no power fantasy)
- 100 Girlfriends - dude with a harem is not a wimp who can’t handle girls (i.e. no self-insert for losers)
These anime are special by virtue of being different from peers of the same genres / subgenres.

There’s an ad for Oshi no Ko at the Shibuya crossing:

Also, here is Kusogaki’s 2025 wrap for my AniList profile:

- the activity stats are useless when activities have been disabled😅
- top tags are very inaccurate; they are based on watch count instead of ratings

2·6 天前mission and vision of Lemmy must be defined
Do you think each niche Lemmy instances should have their own mission and vision, and market themselves accordingly? I’d imagine lemmy.world can represent Lemmy as whole, but something like ani.social speaks more to weebs IMO.

1·6 天前When we write reviews or share things.
My understanding is that marketeers would have thought through their company’s acquisition / retention / etc problems, then decide on the best approach to deal with said problems.
In some cases, marketeers recognised that having reviews bring the most value to their organisations, and would then create means for end users to “write reviews or share things”.
This problem-solving is the real marketing work, not us end users spreading the word.

To play devil’s advocate, one upside of this pack is that it gives new players an easier time to catch up.
I certainly did with its first release.
