I was having lunch at a restaurant a couple of months back, and overheard two women (~55 y/o) sitting behind me. One of them talked about how she used ChatGPT to decide if her partner was being unreasonable. I think this is only gonna get more normal.
Don’t travel to South America then. Seems like the norm to play out loud from your phone there, no matter your age. I once sat at a restaurant in Colombia, where the restaurant was playing loud music, and every other table had someone also playing their own music or TikToks from their phone. I felt like a crazy person being the only one seemingly annoyed by it.

The phones weren’t designed to get you addicted to them back then. I am a teacher, and if I had to start every class by convincing all student who didn’t put their phones in the phone-locker to do it, then I would have no time left for teaching. I have pivoted to making classroom assignments that students have to complete using their phones instead, and it’s working wonders.
